What should I wear?
Gi Uniforms Requirements
Gi uniforms can be worn in many colors such as black, blue, or white. Other colors are acceptable as well. All Gi’s must be worn with a rash gaurd underneath. No shirtless-ness under your Gi please. You are free to decorate your Gi with patches if you would like to express yourself as long as it is family friendly. If you have any questions then please come and ask one of the Shawns.
No-Gi Uniform Requirements
As you can see No-Gi uniforms can be various lengths and colors. A long or short sleeve is acceptable for a rash gaurd like material and board shorts without pockets, buttons, or zippers are acceptable. Leggings are also acceptable as long as shorts are worn over them. You are free to wear decorative rash gaurds with various designs and logos as long as it is kept family friendly. If you have any questions then please come and ask one of the Shawns.
DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE CLASS?
No, Please arrive 15 minutes before a scheduled class to speak with an instructor so we can get you on the mats.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR MY FIRST CLASS?
Sandals to keep your feet clean and ready for the mat. When you are off the mat you are required to wear sandals or some form of foot protection on your feet to prevent the spread of germs from the ground to the mat area.
A rash gaurd for Gi class. Bring rash gaurd-like material shirt to wear under your Gi. This will not only help you stay cool but also creates fro a safer experience as it avoids fingers from getting tangled in a regular shirt.
No-Gi will require you to wear a rash gaurd shirt, board shorts and make sure to wear rash gaurd like compression underwear. This makes everything a bit more comfy and respectable for you and everyone else at the gym.
Mouth gaurd? No safety gear is required. Mouth gaurds are highly encouraged to keep your teeth looking pretty for years to come as well as not accidentally biting your tongue.
Groin protectors or Cups are not allowed to be worn as they may cause a safety hazard for your partners in class.
A gym bag to keep you’re clothes in while your in you’re grappling clothes.
A water bottle to stay hydrated between rolls
A towel to wipe off all that hard work you’ll be putting in on the mats.

WILL YOU PROVIDE A GI FOR TRIAL CLASS?
Yes we will prove you with a Gi for your trial class. Please arrive 15 minutes before class to get fitted for one.

HYGIENE? SHOULD I SHOWER BEFORE AND AFTER CLASS?
HYGIENE - YES! Please shower before and after class. This will help prevent the spread of germs and nasty bugs like ring worm and also, nobody likes a stinky partner in class.
ODORS - It’s the 21st Century and we believe in live and let live but please make sure that you have a clean a friendly smelling aroma about you when you come on to the mats. Nobody likes a stinky partner.
SHOULD I TRIM MY NAILS FOR CLASS?
YES! This is another must if you want to prevent your nails from bending back when grabbing your partners Gi and you certainly do not want to accidentally scratch anyone do you?
